Last night David from Spain joined me touring around Oman. Tomorrow morning we're heading for two dives to the south of the capital, then, hop into the desert again.
Poisoning and live-stock

"Mukhayyam Sama al-Wasil?" I ask young man that pass by in a Mitsubishi pick-up. I was looking for the camp in which my group will overnight. "Fi 4x4?" Saeed asks and nods for the Iveco before entering Rimal Sharqiyya, "eastern sands". "Fi," I answered. "Ba'dana," he waved. "After us!"
Greetings to Gorica and Maribor

Yes, I was right to think of ITAS when Carmen and I were passed in the Emirates by a tractor trailer with Gorica written on the side of the trailer. It would have been too big of a coincidence… When we later drove in the dark towards the coast south of Dubai to find a place to spend the night, we disappointingly discovered that we were driving towards a complex with high-rise hotels. But just before reaching them, we find that the lights are fixed to the tops of towers in an industrial park. As in a surreal fairytale, another familiar sign appears in a crossroads in front of us.
Oman exists

"Teruel existe" is a Spanish saying reminding us of the existence of a town hidden in "Montes Universales", remote to all transit roads, somewhere west of Valencia in southern Aragon. The town is beautiful and charming, although one would soon exhaust all the possibilities trying to find things to do there. Oman exists: this, on the other hand, is a completely different story!
Abu Dhabi and the flight-off

Carmen and I are of the same opinion on the following: Abu Dhabi is more beautiful than Dubai, it is finer than Dubai, it is oh and so »very many nice«, as the Bosniaks would say ... pardon me, the Indians. For Carmen, this city offered the final experience of the Arabian Peninsula. This time around.
