Deseeeeert!!!
28.11.2003 | Palmyra, Syria
My soul has finally found its peace! It's not the real sand-sea yet, but the Hamada, the stone-desert, is replacing it quite well for the moment. Due to some legs with poor road signalisation compass has been used again, but GPS still had some rest, although I was about to grasp on it as well.

Dimashq - Joie de vivre
26.11.2003 | Damascus, Syria
Damascus is fantastic! I just left loose myself inside the Old medina and I have a feeling that the life here flows in a very relaxed way and without hurrying. I could probably live here for a while. The streets are crowded despite holiday and it's almost impossible to get from one to the other side of a street inside the souq area. People are very gentle, open-minded, curious, but not hustling as we are used to from more tourism developed Arab countries. Apart from all this I feel very safe in Syria and the same goes for Turkey. I'm not even worried about my "decorated" car when it waits for a few hours on a random spot in Damascus.
Dimashq - Still cold
25.11.2003 | Damascus, Syria
Once upon a time, ghosts were responsible for the thunder as well, now we even know why eclipses occur. It seems that Partner's problems also have a logic explanation. It looks like the reason was a poor quality of fuel with which I delighted the almost empty fuel-reservoir when we were almost running on fuel-vapour. Despite all this, the whole happening is in some way still involved in a kind of mysticism, as I was refilling on that particular spot due to a series of coincidences.
New filter and pot plant
24.11.2003 | Adana, Turkey
After the initial trouble with the car the selfdiagnostics light turned off, everything functioned fine, after which it turned on again. Therefore Tilen went for Adana and not to the Syrian border as he initially planned. He found a closed Peugeot shop and an open flower shop next door. The only problem was they only spoke Turkish.
