Goodbye to Libya
23.2.2009 | Tuscany, Italy
There is no way I could have left Libya without taking another peek underwater. We met up with Mohammed at quarter to eight (well, we were a bit late, we really can't lie with all the technology we lug round) and soon we sank into the wavy Mediterranean which was a mean 15°C that morning.
Snowy Sicily
22.2.2009 | Palermo, Italy
This time our way home took us not through Malta but Sicily. As our house had to stay put on the ferry during the ten-hour stopover in Palermo, we decided to rent a vehicle and go for a spin to don Vito's. Our search for an old Panda, Vespa or a Piaggio tricycle was in vain. For six hours, we ended up with a fairly new Clio instead.
Sabha and Tripoli - welding and shishas
21.2.2009 | Hammamet, Tunisia
Some days ago I promissed you the story about the slow way to Sabha. Greater part of the road betwen Germa and Sabha is in a horrible condition and perfectly fits the saying that no road is better than bad road. Luckily it took its toll only a few kilometres from the camping site in Sabha.
Libyan Desert - Part Three
18.2.2009 | Tripoli, Libya
We're still busy with meetings in Tripoli, but of course there's always some time for a shisha. As Mr. Salim at a distant desert police check-point said: fuel and time cost nothing in Libya.
Libyan Desert - Part Two
17.2.2009 | Tripoli, Libya
As I finally went OK with the absence of phone connections (remember, the Tunisians took the Thuraya satellite phone from me), I can tell you the feeling is really liberating.
