Transformation of the Iveco 110-16

Walls fitted

4.2.2007 | The Karst region, Slovenia

The things are moving. My little house got its walls. And a roof. And AluBoMa windows. And the door. And the garage is finished. We are also about to finish the floor. A cruise control is installed (and it's working!), additional electrical wirinig on the cockpit and chassis is fixed, the ceiling has been refurbished, a reverse-camera installation is done. When I returned from my business journey it didn't stop raining, then it snowed, while the temperatures are rounding freezing point. Despite of these, we've been working hard during the last two weeks of January and I am pleased with the progress.

Truck repainted, construction finished

13.11.2006 | The Karst region, Slovenia

It took a while. But it doesn't mean I gave in. The one responsible for a two and a half month delay was the varnisher in charge for repainting the chassis and the cabin. He exceeded the deadline for 540% and condemned teh expedition to a one year postponement. It was a good lesson for me - I learned nothing moves if I am absent.

The Iveco is here!!!

26.5.2006 | Slovenia

It is a pleasure for me to inform you that preparations for the expedition over the Arabian peninsula and Africa are in fully running. The Iveco 110-16 truck arrived long time ago to Slovenia, a week ago the last unwanted kilos were removed from the chassis (among others, the surprising 600 kg of the platform which will be replaced by the much lighter newly-made frame).

Libya 2006

Home again

18.2.2006 | Slovenia

Every single thing reaches its end.

Exploring the Akakus area

1.2.2006 | Germa, south Libya

Our second four-day stage took us south of Ghat (see photos), to the Algerian border (in the photo below) and further southeast to Akakus mountains, which is where most of the photos were taken, then onward, over a series of dunes and a pass to the northern edge of the sand sea in Murzur. We reached Jarmah today, after covering 560 km.
