Iran & Arabia 2007/08

Deseeeert!!!

16.12.2007 | Yazd, Iran

The mere sight of Esfahan reminded me of familiar places. The plain that we crossed in order to get to the city is a spitting image of the one surrounding Marakesh, my favourite Moroccan city. We weren't impressed by the city at first night, although the traffic is nothing like the one in Tehran. It has been affected by tourism, people only approach you when they have selfish motives to do so. The only exception was Shahab, the reason we grew fond of the city eventually.

From Yazd

14.12.2007 | Yazd, Iran

Our journey has got a small turnover. Three days ago Tilen injured his wrist while getting some bike leisure on desert sands.

It's warmer!

8.12.2007 | Isfahan, Iran

Isfahan is the first spot where we finally stopped and started breathing. Till now, we were being continuously pushed to go further by the low temperatures. Those of you who know me also know I like driving. In spite of this, the 6.000 kilometres we've done through the last two weeks were such that I was happy to leave the car parked for 60 hours without even opening the cabin. Specially the last 100 kilometres were responsible for this.

Beastiary and green light

6.12.2007 | Esfahan, Iran

If I was told I could only drive a truck in Tehran for the rest of my life, I would instantly hand over the driver's license to the authorities. And yet, Tehran gave us, apart of Manca, a green light to cross the Persian Gulf.

Webasto day

2.12.2007 | Karaj, Iran

As apparently I can't get to Arabia without forcefully stopping at a workshop, so can't I without writing about cold. Serious cold in the house.
