At the present the basis for the expedition vehicle weighs 5.740 kg. Yesterday the passage from the cabin to the future living cabin was finished.
In a week or so the chassis and the cabin will be repainted and at the same time the new frame will start appearing. Bathroom components are on stock and waiting to be built-in, the same goes for the dive-compressor, even a 5,5 kW petrol electric generator has already been bought. At the time of writing the appearance of the truck doesn't suggest a big work has been done, but for the start it was necessary to dismount nearly everything from the vehicle to check the conditions it is in. Whether talking about the chassis, the cabin or the engine, the story remains the same - they all are in great shape. :) When the vehicle is newly painted and the metal construction starts growing on it, the progress, visually at least, will be more transparent. At that point, even the pace of the construction process will speed-up.
During the last weeks the group of supporters of the expedition grew thanks to some newly-joined sponsors which made me extremely happy - naturally thanks to financial relief they represent, but specially due to the enthusiasm with which they entered the family. Made me very happy. I am also optimistic about the potential sponsors with which the negotiations are still open, but which I sincerely hope will join us. Reactions of the media are positive as well, and as it looks like, the news about the expedition will also go around Slovenia through TV (if I am honest, I really never doubted in this, but the case is I haven't been working on it till the last week). In short, my web page will be rebuilt and put on the web with a fresh look.
When important news appear, you'll be informed - till then, enjoy in spring as much as you can,
Tilen Gabrovsek - Desert Soul
