Over the dunes
13.1.2012 | The Sahara, Tunisia
When the sun appears from behind the first dunes, dispels the darkness and begins to heat us with its pleasant beams, it's time to get up. The desert is still as quite as usually and its silence is easily overridden by our stretching and countless "good mornings". Breakfast, peeing, raising the camp and ... brrrrmmmm!!
Alf layla wa layla - A thousand nights and a night - ااف ليلة وليلة
11.1.2012 | The Sahara, Tunisia
When the sun sinks behind the last dunes, there, right at the end, the desert enters a different mood. In a couple of minutes, it gets covered by a bell as black as ebony, sprinkled with bright stars just as if they would have been scattered in every direction after a child's balloon exploded. And they are so incredibly bright on this dark velvet they seem closer than ever. In between our finally muted cavalry, the flames are already licking the wood we collected in the afternoon.
Desert? The real one!
10.1.2012 | The Sahara, Tunisia
Fast and hard pistes, flour-like soft sands, barbed-wire roller, moon-lit evenings whit narguila and tea, sand sea for gourmands, desert wells and the wind that changed our plans.
Loaded and marching
8.1.2012 | Douz, Tunisia
As usually, the last days prior to departure and after Tilen had returned from his tour to Andalusia, have been hectic. It only added oil onto fire when Jan appeared that afternoon before departure informing us that the next day would be public holiday in Italy and thus heavy-traffic ban on Italian roads in force.
