NEW SPORT

21.08.2015
If you see the first photo you could get the impression that we're bored and spending all the time (and money) at the same café. This impression would actually be quite realistic, although here's Peter's report on how we amuse ourselves on boring days, waiting for the ferry: - We woke up as usual – several times. We got up late and on my surprise my private driver Tilen asked: "Shall we have some reading?" Some two hours of silence followed. The foggy morning hours passed and then Tilen, out of the sudden, said:

"Do you recall what we were talking about in the middle of the night?" My answer was, of course, negative. After a brief recapitulation my answer was: "It's your own responsibility. No, I won't try it, thanks." All of you are probably asking yourself what was my friend's idea so I won't let you wait much longer. Of course he invented a new sport which later, on the Dolce Vita café terrace in Hammamat got its name: Streetski. I was driving the car full of adrenaline while watching Tilen, smiling in the mirror and shouting "Faster!"

Max speed: 35 kilometres per hour. Max heartbeat: 165 beat per minute. Most spectacular spill cause: bitumen-stuck chewing gum.

You're still eager to find out what he was actually doing today. As his smile disappeared under the rear window's bottom, the game was over. Your beloved desert soul amused himself this morning by skiing on a metal plate, and me, I was towing him up and down the street in front of the Sheraton hotel like with a motorboat. When I was picking his pieces up from the road my heartbeat dropped normal and I was happy to realize that in spite of excessive muscle stretching he was still OK and satisfied, so he asked me excited: "Will you also try?"

I know he would borrow me his Batman suit and all six pairs of trousers he had been wearing ass a safety measure, but I declined his offer with a smile as I didn't want to end up in the local hospital. If you still don't know what Tilen was doing today, look at the photos. As for me, I'm happy that I could enjoy his company while having my "morning" coffee. I know his mother won't be angry at me because I didn't listen to him as he was shouting "Faster!" from behind our Partner. -

Now we're thinking about how to entertain ourselves tomorrow. After today's training we're also making plans for the ferry. Peter is thinking of buying a cheap surfing board he saw yesterday in a Tunis sport-equipment store.

P.S.: The last photo is Bettino Craxi's grave in Hammamat, I'm telling it just in case...
